GRODNO, 10 December (BelTA) – A survey will be held at the temporary accommodation facility for refugees in order to identify educational needs of the refugee children, member of the Council of the Republic Igor Gedich told reporters on 10 December, BelTA has learned.
Refugees have been stranded at the Belarus-Poland border for 33 days already. Now they are living in the temporary accommodation facility set up at the logistics hub near the Bruzgi checkpoint.
“All in all, the shelter is living a quiet life, no emergencies have been reported. The refugees are provided with food and round-the-clock medical support. Over the past 24 hours, about 100 people turned to doctors for help. Two adults and three children are undergoing inpatient treatment,” Igor Gedich said.
He noted that there are quite many children among the refugees. On 10 December a survey will be held at the shelter to identify educational needs of the refugee children. The survey will be conducted by local psychologists and UNICEF representatives.
“Several options are being considered. For example, video lessons or lessons by educators-psychologists; we are looking for teachers among the refugees,” Igor Gedich said. According to him, the final decision will be made taking into account the opinions of the refugees.
