Students from seven countries to partake in Star Expedition campaign in Belarus

MINSK, 15 January (BelTA) – Maksim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University (BSPU) will hold the 54th international Star Expedition around the places of military glory and labor excellence in Belarus from 28 January till 1 February, BelTA has learned from the BSPU press service.

The Star Expedition will kick off with a solemn rally at the Pobeda museum and park complex, near the memorial to the citizens of all nationalities who liberated Belarus from the German fascists, on 28 January. Attending the event will be Belarus' Education Minister Igor Karpenko, representatives of the embassies of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan in Belarus.

During the expedition, more than 300 participants divided into nine groups will visit districts of Minsk Oblast, Vitebsk Oblast, Grodno Oblast and Mogilev Oblast. They will stage rallies and lay flowers to the memorials and graves of soldiers and civilians who perished in the Great Patriotic War, meet with war and labor veterans, provide them help and assistance. The participants will also visit educational institutions to conduct careers fairs, give concerts, organize workshops and sports events.

The expedition will bring together BSPU students from Belarus, Turkmenistan, Russia and China. They will be joined by students and professors of Baku Slavic University (Azerbaijan), Gumilyov Eurasian National University (Kazakhstan), Moscow City Pedagogical University, Nizami Tashkent State Pedagogical University (Uzbekistan).
