MINSK, 11 February (BelTA) – Vladimir Zelensky is just a tool in the hands of the USA, so Ukraine peace talks should be held with the one who owns this tool, Russian political commentator and TV presenter Olga Skabeyeva said in the documentary “In Search of Peace” aired by the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA learned.
When asked whether Vladimir Zelensky could be a participant in negotiations similar to the Normandy Four meeting in Minsk (the so-called Minsk II), Olga Skabeyeva answered negatively.
“I hope that we have analyzed our mistakes. It is a rather difficult cognitive process. If you are a good, decent person, it does not mean that everyone around you is also a good and decent person who can keep their word. We cannot allow ourselves, our country, to make the same mistake again. Therefore, unfortunately, the trust is gone. Now it is absolutely clear that Zelensky does not represent himself, does not represent the country, does not represent anything. He is just a tool. It is like negotiating with a gun. You need to negotiate with the one who owns this gun. Unfortunately, Ukraine has lost its independence,” the TV presenter said.
“I definitely don't like the idea that a country at Russia's doorstep is governed from Washington. But this is a given, the harsh reality, so we must proceed from this. It is absolutely pointless to negotiate with Zelensky. Any guarantees that he wishes or, God forbid, gives, will mean nothing at all. We must talk to the owner of this 'gun'. Or with the owner of this stick, because he is the stick that is used to hit Russia,” Olga Skabeyeva said.
