Security of data in Government Cloud emphasized

MOGILEV, 5 May (BelTA) – A seminar took place in the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee on 5 May to discuss the transition of government agencies and organizations to the Government Cloud platform, BelTA has learned.

The Government Cloud is information and telecommunications infrastructure that meets the highest information security and data protection standards. The project has been implemented by the telecommunications infrastructure company beCloud specifically for government agencies and organizations. The digital platform will improve the effectiveness of the public sector, will save budget resources, and will keep government data and personal data of citizens secure.

Experts noted during the seminar that cloud technologies will enable the necessary level of data security for government agencies. Besides, all the data will be stored in Belarus using resources of the national data processing center. It is another important consideration that guarantees the security of data, the experts added.

Taking part in the seminar were representatives of the Operations and Analysis Center under the President of the Republic of Belarus, the Mogilev Oblast branch of the prosecution service, the Mogilev Oblast branch of the Investigative Committee, and beCloud Company. The meeting was organized by the Operations and Analysis Center.

So far over 500 government agencies and state-run organizations have transitioned to the Government Cloud platform. Those include the Tax and Duties Ministry, the Healthcare Ministry, the Finance Ministry, the Labor and Social Protection Ministry, the State Property Committee, the State Standardization Committee, the Social Protection Fund of the Labor and Social Protection Ministry, the Applied Research Center for Medical Technologies of the Healthcare Ministry, the Minsk City Executive Committee, and many other government agencies and state-run organizations.

It was the fourth meeting of the kind. The organizers said the work would continue.
