MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) – The future of the country largely depends on science, Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Sergei Kilin said at a ceremony to present state awards on 27 June, BelTA has learned.
Sergei Kilin thanked Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko for supporting the domestic science. “We would not succeed without your principled decision to promote science through evolution, not revolution. We really appreciate it. Scientists are fulfilling your instructions, one of which is to explore new areas of research,” Sergei Kilin said.
He emphasized that scientists are successfully working in a broad range of research, including space, nanotechnology and biotechnology. “I believe that the future also depends on science and that it is in our hands,” Sergei Kilin said. He was awarded the honorary title “Merited Scientist of the Republic of Belarus”.
