Representatives of various sectors honored for services to Belarusian statehood

MINSK, 6 May (BelTA) - Head of the Belarus President Administration Igor Sergeyenko presented state awards to people from various walks of life in a ceremony in Minsk on 6 May, BelTA has learned

"Today, in the run-up to the Great Victory Day, we are honoring the best representatives of all regions of our country for services to the Belarusian statehood, and the socio-political development of the country," Igor Sergeyenko said.

He recalled that over the past year and a half, a lot of work has been done to amend the Constitution of Belarus. "All of us worked coherently and constructively to develop balanced approaches and to find common ground taking into account the opinion of the majority. It was a difficult job but we achieved our goals and engaged the constructive part of the Belarusian society in this work," the head of the President Administration emphasized. “Each of oyu has contributed to the overall success of the country. It's a good reason to be proud."

"New professional successes and achievements lie ahead of us. The Constitution needs to be further developed and many legislative acts need to be brought into line with it. Life constantly throws at us challenges and threats, sets more complex tasks.

I am firmly convinced that we will cope with the tasks of any complexity, because each of you, sitting in this hall, is a real professional, a true citizen and patriot,” Igor Sergeyenko said.

The Order of Honor was conferred on Mogilev Oblast Vice Governor Valery Malashko, Chairman of the Constitutional Court Piotr Miklashevich, Gomel Oblast Vice Governor Vladimir Privalov and First Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Maksim Ryzhenkov.

Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus Mikhail Orda and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Legislation and State Construction of the Council of the Republic Sergei Sivets were among the Medal For Labor Merits awardees. The award also went to representatives of government bodies, public organizations and mass media.

The Honored Lawyer of the Republic of Belarus title was bestowed upon Director of the National Center of Legislation and Legal Research Vadim Ipatov and Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Valery Mitskevich.

Tens of specialists were acknowledged by the President's Letter of Commendation. These were representatives of the state administration, deputy corps, law enforcement agencies, public associations, military servicemen, mass media, local authorities, judicial corps, enterprises and organizations.
