GRODNO, 23 November (BelTA) - We are waiting for the border to open, we will not go back home, BelTA learned from one of the refugees staying at a temporary accommodation center at the logistics hub on the Belarusian-Polish border.
Today is the 16th day as the refugees have been staying on the border. Today's morning surprised many of them with light frosts and a snowstorm.
“Snow and freezing weather are not normal for us. It is good that the women and children are sheltered, warm and fed. We are waiting for the border to open, we are not going back home. Nothing good awaits us in Iraqi Kurdistan,” he said. The man said that he would wait for a positive resolution of the issue for as long as necessary. His future depends on it. The man hopes to go to Germany. In his home country, he said, there are no jobs, no opportunities to earn money and to realize people's potential.
Plans are in place to set up a field bath for refugees near the logistics center today. People have asked for it.
Now, it is breakfast time. Grocery packages are distributed together with tea. Hygiene kits are also distributed in the morning. Today they have been supplemented with shampoo and bath soap.
