Panchenko: While Lukashenko built factories, Ukrainian politicians destroyed the country

MINSK, 22 December (BelTA) – In Ukraine, politicians have been destroying, selling, and betraying the country for 30 years, Ukrainian journalist Diana Panchenko said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
Reflecting on establishing peace, Diana Panchenko noted that in Ukraine “everyone is very agitated”. “By everyone I mean Ukrainian politicians who have left the country and those who are still there. I feel extreme disdain for these people, because for 30 years, they have been destroying our country. While your president [Aleksandr Lukashenko] was strengthening sovereignty and building factories, these politicians were destroying, selling and betraying us”

“To all those who are eager to finish off the unfortunate Ukraine, I would like to disappoint you: this won’t happen. Whatever Trump and Putin decide, that is the outcome we will see. There will be no election [in Ukraine]. Even if it theoretically takes place, the winner will still be the person who is beneficial to those who truly make the decisions. And today, Trump and Putin are the ones really making the decisions,” she stated, adding that there are still forces preventing the two from reaching consensus.

The Ukrainian journalist also emphasized that in a rapidly changing world, Europe appears as the weak link. “This situation has led to a situation where people decide nothing, there are no fair elections, no democracy. All truly significant institutions are not elected. Total control, censorship, migration are practically destroying the European Union. And most importantly, this has caused absolute frustration and disappointment among people,” Diana Panchenko said.

“I’ve heard that people are disillusioned, don’t want to work, don’t understand how to withstand and what comes next,” she noted. A family from Donetsk, whose son attends a French school, was accused of improper parenting because the boy strongly reacted to the touch of a homosexual teacher. This is what the European Union has become today,” Diana Panchenko said. “I feel very sad for old Europe. I really love French culture and admire the German mentality, but look at the ratings of Macron and Merz – less than 10%. They are already at an all-time low. People aren't choosing that path."
