MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) - Over 6,200 vehicles are waiting to enter the European Union, Belarus’ State Border Committee told BelTA.
“More than 3,300 trucks, 2,800 passenger cars, and 160 buses are queuing to enter the European Union,” the border agency said.
The busiest route for trucks to enter the European Union is via the Polish checkpoint Kukuryki (Kozlovichi on the Belarusian side), with 1,640 trucks queuing. Over the past 24 hours, the Polish checkpoint cleared 37% of the trucks.
The fewest trucks crossed into the neighboring territory via the Lithuanian border checkpoint Medininkai (Kamenny Log on the Belarusian side). Its services processed only 14% of the usual traffic volume.
Some 390 trucks are waiting to enter the EU at the Latvian border checkpoint Paternieki (Grigorovshchina on the Belarusian side), where 35% of vehicles was checked out to enter Latvia.
A total of 1,160 passenger cars and 70 buses queuing to enter Poland near the border checkpoint Terespol (Brest on the Belarusian side). The Polish checkpoint handled 39% of the normal number of vehicles over the past 24 hours.
