MINSK, 17 December (BelTA) – More than 400 representatives of domestic and foreign media have been accredited to cover the Belarusian People’s Congress, Belarus’ First Deputy Information Minister Andrei Kuntsevich told BelTA.
“The Belarusian People’s Congress will undoubtedly reinforce the unprecedented media activity of recent weeks around Belarus. A series of international visits and high-level meetings, the president’s high-profile interview with the U.S. TV channel Newsmax, the upcoming Address of the head of state to the Belarusian people, and the discussion of the draft five-year socio-economic development program are all keeping Belarus at the forefront of the news agenda,” Andrei Kuntsevich noted.
He added that more than 400 domestic and international journalists have been accredited to work directly at the Palace of the Republic during the Congress session, including representatives from leading media outlets in Russia, China, Türkiye and Germany. “Seven major Belarusian media outlets have set up mobile studios in the Palace, and live broadcasts from the event are planned,” Andrei Kuntsevich said.
“Given the strong media interest in the Belarusian People’s Congress, the organizers had to expand the number of workstations for journalists at the Congress press center. Media representatives will be provided with everything necessary for comfortable work,” the first deputy information minister concluded.
