Over 3t of food delivered to refugees stranded at Belarus-Poland border

GRODNO, 16 November (BelTA) – Another batch of humanitarian aid to the amount of over three tonnes was delivered to the refugees stranded at the Belarusian-Polish border, BelTA has learned.

The refugees who had left the camp near the Polish border the day before spent a cold night at the entrance to the Polish checkpoint of Kuznica. Many of them complained of bitter cold and the lack of food and water.

On the morning of 16 November, another batch of humanitarian aid was delivered to the makeshift camp at the Polish checkpoint. The Red Cross volunteers distributed food first of all among children and women. The food was handed out in an orderly manner: the refugees lined up and there was no stampede.

The grocery sets contained staple foods, including milk, bread, canned meat, confectionery. This batch of humanitarian aid was collected by public associations. Ordinary Belarusians also donated food and warm clothes. There are enough food products in warehouses in Grodno. The supply of aid to the refugees will continue.
