Opinion: Media needs to focus on ethics, truthfulness of information

MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) - In the digital age media should pay special attention to the issues of ethics and truthfulness of information, Igor Zelenkevich, an adviser at the information and analysis department of the CIS Executive Committee, told BelTA on the sidelines of the 13th Belarusian International Media Forum Partnership for the Future in Minsk on 12 September.

According to him, the media forum has become a high-profile event that focuses on topical issues of mass media. This year's edition of the forum highlights the digital agenda for media. "Today, when ethical problems increase by a hundredfold, we need to unite efforts to decide how we deliver truthful information to readers using modern technologies," Igor Zelenkevich said.

The 13th Belarusian International Media Forum Partnership for the Future: Digital Agenda for Media Space is running in Minsk and Minsk Oblast on 11-14 September.

The media forum has brought together more than 300 media leaders, prominent political scientists, experts from the CIS and non-CIS countries. For the first time, the forum is attended by such countries as Vietnam, Mongolia, Bangladesh.
