MINSK, 4 September (BelTA) - Many European countries are demonstrating a double standard policy, political scientist and head of World Economy magazine (Berlin, Germany) Alexander Sosnovsky said in an interview to Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“This is a policy of double standards. The German protests that we saw on Saturday, demonstrated a lot of police brutality in respect to protesters. Taking a closer look at those protests, I have not seen any violence against the police and authorities from protesters. When I was watching some footage from Belarus, I saw enough strong young men who clearly provoked, including special forces and police officers,” Alexander Sosnovsky said.
According to the political analyst, when force is used against the authorities, the state must respond. “If the state does not protect itself, it will be ruined,” he added.
