MINSK, 20 October (BelTA) – Raising the political awareness of students should be one of the key tasks, Natalya Lapteva, who has been appointed Rector of the Minsk State Linguistic University, told the media, BelTA has learned.
"This will help students to make informed decisions, to shape their position based on knowledge, history, and positive experience," Natalya Lapteva noted.
When commenting on the recent developments, she said: "Probably, there is a certain moment when you really want to make decisions but the level of political awareness still implies its certain development... Raising the political awareness will now be one of the key goal. This will help students develop an argumentative framework in decision-making."
Natalya Lapteva spoke about the plans to hold dialogue platforms with representatives of related organizations and departments that are able to provide constructive and competent exploitations, describe the patterns of society development, decision-making rules, and behavior models. "It is in dialogue, in cooperation that we verify our positions, form new views, and weigh all pros and cons," she said.
