"On Point"
MINSK, 2 June (BelTA) – The European Union leadership will keep tightening the screws for Eurosceptics, Polish journalist and publicist Piotr Korczarowski told former Polish judge Tomasz Szmydt in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA's YouTube channel.
The journalist noted that the European Union officials want to get more control over the internal affairs of member states, including Poland. He believes that sooner or later it will lead to the collapse of the European Union, which could be tragic.
“I hope I'm wrong, but this situation will end up in a bloodshed. For it to end peacefully, this system has to collapse, someone has to bribe or intimidate these people. And in my opinion, it will not end up like the Soviet Union, which disintegrated after the republics separated from each other. It will be more like in Yugoslavia. Too much money was spent on various international projects and in the form of foreign investments for the Eurocrats to let their project fall apart,” said Piotr Korczarowski.
The journalist went on saying that more than a million people in Poland can be defined as Eurosceptics: “A million people in a big country like Poland may not sound like a formidable force, but it is still a million people. This million people can trigger a chain reaction that will be impossible to stop, because as soon as we have a group of 50,000 people, it is already a political force, but it can still be pacified.”
