Operational readiness inspection underway in Belarus

MINSK, 30 January (BelTA) – Following a decision of the Belarusian defense minister, an operational readiness inspection of the Armed Forces kicked off in Belarus. The inspection is supervised by Head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, First Deputy Defense Minister Oleg Belokonev, BelTA learned from the press service of the Defense Ministry.

The inspection will be carried out in the military command structures of the operative and tactical levels, vehicle units and tank forces, special operations forces, combat service support, as well as various service branches. About 1,400 people are to be called back to duty and 20 units of military equipment will be used.

“The special operations forces will simulate actions of an opposing force. The inspection will wrap up with exercises of various levels with actual firing on shooting ranges of the Armed Forces,” the press service informed.
