Most cybercriminals work against Belarusian citizens from abroad

MINSK, 16 February (BelTA) – Most cybercriminals work against Belarusian citizens from abroad, Chairman of Belarus' Investigative Committee Dmitry Gora said at a press conference, BelTA has learned.

“With the Ministry of Internal Affairs, we uncovered fraudulent call centers and detained about 50 people. The media have already reported on it. We are working on this. However, it should be said that most criminals work against Belarusian citizens from abroad. Therefore, international cooperation is essential, including with Russia and other CIS countries,” Dmitry Gora noted.

Unfortunately, there is no constructive work with Western countries. “Although criminals are also working from there harming our citizens,” the head of the Investigative Committee added. Meanwhile, the work with the Internal Affairs Ministry and other law enforcement agencies is constantly underway, Dmitry Gora stated.

The Investigative Committee held a board meeting chaired by Dmitry Gora on 16 February. It summarized the results of the work of the investigative agency for 2023. State Secretary of the Security Council Aleksandr Volfovich also took part in the meeting.
