MINSK, 21 January (BelTA) - The Center for Technical Creativity of Children and Youth in Minsk hosted the finals of the city round of the national youth project “100 Ideas for Belarus”, BelTA has learned.
A total of 68 projects from 110 participants were submitted for the city round in Minsk. Twenty of them will advance to the finals to show that the Belarusian capital is the most industrially developed and innovative. And they will prove that our youth is the best,” noted Alexei Pikus, First Secretary of the Minsk City Committee of the Belarusian BRSM Youth Union. "The participants are pitching new developments and innovative projects. This once again proves the youth's interest in this competition."


The main objectives of the project are to discover young talents, to develop youth inventiveness and innovation, identify and implement innovative projects and R&D developments of practical interest for the real economy, and provide assistance in promoting innovative projects and R&D developments.

The city competition includes two groups of developers:Group 1 – students from general secondary education institutions and educational institutions implementing vocational and specialized secondary education programs. Group 2 – working youth, young scientists, and representatives of institutions and organizations under the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Three winning projects are selected in each group, along with a Grand Prize winner.


The contest runs 10 categories: “Energy, including nuclear energy, and energy efficiency”; “Agro-industrial technologies and farming”; “Industrial and construction technologies”; “Healthcare (medical technologies, pharmacy, bio- and nano-industry)”; “Chemical technologies and petrochemistry”; “Information and communication technologies (including intelligent systems and automation, smart cities and sustainability, digital medicine, information technologies in education, technologies for social inclusion, digital ethics, and cybersecurity)”; “Ecology (conservation and restoration of the natural environment, rational (sustainable) use and reproduction of natural resources, prevention of harmful impacts on the environment)”; “National security and emergency response”; “Society and social welfare”; “Best business idea”.
