MINSK, 21 May (BelTA) – The MILEX expo will create the necessary conditions for the emergence of breakthrough solutions in the military technical sector, Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin said at the opening of the 12th edition of the international arms and defense technology expo MILEX 2025 in Minsk on 21 May, BelTA has learned.
“It is symbolic that this large-scale forum is held in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. This particularly emphasizes the importance of preserving peace as the highest universal value. Amid the escalation of regional tensions and intensification of military preparations by some countries of the Western minority, which are on the path of outright revanchism, the format of the event once again confirms the openness of Belarus, its interest in developing cooperation with other countries in the field of security,” said Viktor Khrenin.
The samples of armaments and military equipment showcased at the expo reflect the main development trends and prospects of the world arms market, including in the field of high technology and artificial intelligence. It convincingly demonstrates the huge scientific, technical and industrial potential of Belarus.
“The development of the domestic military industry complex that meets the latest trends is a necessary condition for the strong Armed Forces and a guarantee that the state will be reckoned with on the world stage. Some of the samples displayed at the expo have already been taken into service by the Belarusian army. I am convinced that the international exhibition will create the necessary conditions for the emergence of new breakthrough solutions in the military technical sector, will promote the development of business contacts and will contribute to the development of interstate cooperation in general,” Viktor Khrenin emphasized.
