VITEBSK OBLAST, 23 January (BelTA) – One of the mechanized units has been put on combat alert under peacetime force levels as part of the inspection of the Belarusian Armed Forces, State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich told journalists, BelTA has learned.
“In line with the inspection scenario one of the mechanized units of the North-Western Operational Command has been put on combat alert in peacetime force. A group of the State Secretariat arrived and presented the directive signed by the president personally. The brigade commander read the directive, specified the priority tasks, and gave necessary orders. The commanders have left to perform their tasks,” Aleksandr Volfovich said.
The state secretary of the Security Council noted that military units will undergo readiness inspections on schedule and then embark on marches along an unfamiliar route.
“The route exceeds 50 km. It has been determined by the State Secretariat’s commission. The march will take place in an environment simulating enemy’s sabotage and reconnaissance teams, drawing on lessons from the special military operation, such as the use of unmanned aerial vehicles against convoy targets,” he said. “We will observe how unit commanders counter the potential adversary. Following this, the units will arrive at the training ground, where control exercises in tactical fire training will be conducted.”
According to Aleksandr Volfovich, the inspection will assess how servicemen handle the sudden alert and deployment of their units. “In general, every person in uniform must be ready to act at any time of day or night – this is what the Ppresident demands of us,” the state secretary of the Security Council added.

Aleksandr Volfovich stated that a thorough analysis will be carried out and reported in full detail to the head of state and the leadership of the Armed Forces for their consideration. “The intensity of the inspection will be increased going forward,” he added.
