Lukashenko: Belarus is a common home for different religions

MINSK, 11 February (BelTA) – Belarus is a home to people of different religions, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he addressed the 6th Belarusian People's Congress in Minsk on 11 February, BelTA has learned.

"We are a multi-religious country, with the Christian values as our moral foundation. Belarus is a common home for all denominations represented in our country,” the head of state said. "Belarusian tolerance has become one of the main achievements of independent Belarus."

Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that the Belarusian state has fully ensured the realization of the right to freedom of conscience, give the people true freedom in choosing faith or, conversely, a non-religious worldview. “We will continue to support the traditional denominations. We will do everything to ensure that each of us and even travelers to our country have the opportunity to find their way to the temple. This is our value, this is our way," the President said.
