Latvian AN-2 violates Belarusian border

MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) – A Latvian AN-2 aircraft violated the Belarusian border, BelTA learned from the State Border Committee of Belarus.

On the morning of 8 February, Belarusian border guards registered a violation of the Belarusian airspace from Latvia.

An AN-2 light aircraft flew 300m deep into the Belarusian territory and, having flown around the Urbany border checkpoint, returned to Latvia.

This is not the first case when the Belarusian airspace has been violated. For example, on 4 December 2021, a Ukrainian helicopter flew into the territory of Belarus near the Novaya Rudnya border checkpoint, and on 24 January of this year, the border was violated by a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle near the village of Khmelishche in Malorita District.
