Kilinkarov on Lithuania’s border policy: “Someone allows this”

MINSK, 24 November (BelTA) – The provocative policies of the Baltic states can be largely explained by support from Great Britain, former member of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada Spiridon Kilinkarov said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“I believe the Baltic states, particularly Estonia and Lithuania, are provocative countries. In other words, lacking military or economic potential, they are displaying their aggressive nature in the European space,” said Spiridon Kilinkarov. “They are trying to dictate things to Germany, which, in fact, practically finances the European Union. They act like masters, like countries that are the patrons of this very same European Union.”

According to the former Verkhovna Rada member, the Baltic states behave this way because they are permitted to. He suggested that these states are effectively under a British protectorate. “The British role here shouldn’t be exaggerated, but it shouldn’t be downplayed either. I think they have very significant influence on the leadership of these countries, including in terms of the provocations they carry out on their borders, for example, with Belarus,” he emphasized.

Spiridon Kilinkarov added that British intelligence agencies had once considered taking control not only of Ukraine but also of Belarus. “That is, to create an axis, to separate Russia by erecting a wall of certain countries, so that there would be no direct contact between, say, Germany and Russia. And all matters would have to be coordinated, so to speak, with London. That was their simple idea,” the former Verkhovna Rada deputy noted.
