MINSK, 16 January (BelTA) – The heads of the Investigative Committees of Belarus and Russia discussed ways to improve the effectiveness of criminal investigations and strengthen security within the Union State of Belarus and Russia, BelTA learned from the Information and Public Relations Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus.
For many years, the Investigative Committees of Belarus and Russia have maintained stable working contacts. Their cooperation aims at enhancing the efficiency of investigations, exchanging experience, and reinforcing security in the Union State.
“We regard cooperation with our Russian colleagues as a key area of international partnership, enabling us to pool resources, share best practices, and jointly counter modern challenges. Only through combined efforts can we minimize criminal activity, preserve social stability, and ensure the safety of Union State citizens,” Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Belarus Konstantin Bychek noted.
Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin emphasized the high level of constructive cooperation with Belarusian colleagues. “Our agencies are bound by a long-standing partnership built on trust, professionalism, and shared approaches to upholding the rule of law. We greatly appreciate the readiness of our Belarusian colleagues for open dialogue and joint work. I am confident that today’s visit will lay the foundation for new initiatives aimed at improving the effectiveness of criminal investigations and strengthening law and order,” Alexander Bastrykin stressed.
The Belarusian delegation also took part in official events to mark the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
