International observer: I have no complaints about electoral process

MINSK, 24 January (BelTA) - I have no complaints about the electoral process at the moment, foreign (international) observer of the CIS mission Nurlan Beknazarov told the media after visiting polling stations No. 51, 53 and 54 of Oktyabrsky District of Minsk, BelTA has learned.

“We have visited some polling stations today. We chose those with more voters. Currently, I am surprised by the level of voter activity. They are eager to vote. The mechanism of early voting is regulated by law and is convenient for citizens, allowing them to vote in a calm and organized manner before the main election day,” he said.

Nurlan Beknazarov also added that currently he, as an international observer, has no complaints about the electoral process. “Everything is organized in accordance with international law and Belarusian norms. The country provided all opportunities for citizens to vote. The most important thing is to ensure that the people can cast their ballots for the candidate they consider worthy,” the observer stressed.

Nurlan Beknazarov pointed out that as an observer he primarily pays attention to the compliance of the election commissions with the law. The training of commission members is also checked. Access to polling stations is also important to ensure that voters can make their choices.

The presidential election in Belarus is scheduled for 26 January. Early voting in Belarus is running on 21-25 January 2025. Precinct commissions will be open from 12.00 till 19.00 without break. On 26 January, voting will be held from 8.00 till 20.00.
