Interaction of Belarusian, Russian military in drone usage during Zapad 2025 exercise pointed out

MINSK, 14 September (BelTA) – During the Belarusian-Russian strategic army exercise Zapad 2025 Belarusian and Russian military personnel demonstrate a high level of interaction in the application of unmanned aerial vehicles, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Defense Ministry.
The drone fleet includes quadcopters and FPV drones as well as more complicated drones such as Supercam. It allows military personnel to carry out a broad range of missions. Drone operators closely coordinate with ground units and enable continuous observation over terrain and timely detection of targets.

“During this exercise our team helps adjust artillery fire, find the enemy in possible positions, accompany marches and carry out other tasks relating to the aerial reconnaissance and search for various facilities. We fly tactical drones of the Supercam variety. The video channel range is 60km, the control channel range is up to 50km. The maximum flight altitude is up to 4,500m,” a drone operator told BelTA.

Drones can fly reconnaissance missions during the day and at night thanks to an infrared camera. “We work for the benefit of various units: infantry, paratroopers, artillery. We are given a specific mission and we adjust to it and carry it out as efficiently as possible. Supercam is the most convenient drone to control. One of the key advantages is that it is impossible to intercept or steal. It has an innovative infrastructure, thanks to which it can carry out missions without using satellites. It is resistant to various kinds of jamming and can adjust flight on its own,” the drone operator summarized.
