Frozen in ice: Putting BELARUS tractor to cold start test

MINSK, 5 February (BelTA) - Will a BELARUS tractor start after being completely frozen? Employees of Minsk Tractor Plant (MTZ trademark) put it to the test, BelTA has learned.

Workers at MTZ doused a BELARUS 1222.3 tractor with cold water and left it out in the cold on the factory grounds.
After some time, the vehicle became completely encased in ice. Following this, one of the MTZ employees climbed into the cab, turned the key in the ignition – and the tractor started up.

The BELARUS 1222.3 is the flagship model of Minsk Tractor Plant. It is designed for performing various agricultural tasks using mounted, semi-mounted, and towed machinery and implements, loading and unloading equipment, harvesting complexes, for driving stationary agricultural machines, as well as for transport work in various climatic zones. The BELARUS 1222.3 entered serial production in 2020, replacing the popular 1221 model with 130 horsepower. It has been awarded the State Quality Mark.
