MINSK, 21 March (BelTA) – The Forest Week campaign will be held in Belarus from 9 to 16 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Forestry Ministry.
“The campaign to plant new forests will traditionally take place in all regions of the country and will be dedicated to the Year of Historical Memory,” the ministry said.
The nationwide voluntary campaign will be held in Belarus for the 15th time.
More than six million seedlings of tree species were planted in Minsk Oblast in 2021. Pine accounted for 70% of the seedlings, spruce for 20%, other tree species for 10%. Most of the seedlings were planted in Stolbtsy District and Vileika District. The most active participants in the action were forestries in Minsk District, Stolbtsy District, Volozhin District, Smolevichi District and Molodechno District.
