First stage of Belarus-Russia youth forum to be held online on 25 September

MINSK, 23 September (BelTA) – The first stage of the 8th Belarusian-Russian youth forum will take place in the format of a video conference on 25 September, BelTA learned from Secretary of the Central Committee of the BRSM Youth Union Aleksandra Goncharova.

“The forum will be held as part of the 7th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia. The youth forum has proved to be a good platform for fulfilling the potential of the young generation of the two countries. This year the BRSM, together with the Education Ministry of Belarus and the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs of Russia decided to hold the forum in two stages. The first stage, with the participation of representatives of youth organizations and public associations of Belarus and Russia, starts on 25 September. The national press center will broadcast the video conference on the ZOOM platform. The second stage is planned for December,” said Aleksandra Goncharova.

The forum will bring together 60 people: 30 from each side. The solemn opening ceremony will be attended by the BRSM leaders, the National Council for Children and Youth Associations of Russia, as well as honorary guests - representatives of the Belarusian Education Ministry and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, the Council of the Republic and the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs.

The program will feature the section “Promotion of Historical Memory”. Young political scientists, lawmakers, heads of public associations will make presentations on the topics “Modern approaches to saving historical memory”, “Youth public initiatives in the civic and national education of the youth”, “Interaction of youth parliamentary organizations in the preservation of objective historical memory of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”, “Formation of youth patriotic values and preservation of continuity of generations. Youth marathon 75”, “Modern technologies of the History Museum in work with children and teenagers on the preservation of historical memory”, "The role of public organizations in the formation of national historical memory of children and the youth”, “The experience of Victory Volunteers in popularizing the study of the history of the Great Patriotic War”.

“Belarusian representatives will share the experience of the national youth project Train#Belarus. Moladz. Natkhnenne. The issues related to the work of the Youth Chamber at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia and the implementation of the international historical and cultural project Digital Star will be considered,” said the secretary of the BRSM Central Committee.

The Belarusian-Russian youth forum has been held since 2013 at the initiative of the BRSM Youth Union and the National Council for Children and Youth Associations of Russia.
