GRODNO, 1 December (BelTA) - A drone carrying extremist materials flown in from Lithuania was discovered after crashing in Grodno on 30 November, the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs told BelTA.
On 30 November, a UAV of unknown origin was found on one of the streets of Grodno. During inspection, police determined that the drone was equipped with a camera capable of taking photos and videos, which could be used to collect intelligence data. In addition, extremist printed materials had been dropped from the drone.
Specialists analyzed the onboard equipment data and determined the flight route. The launch point was the village of Kapčiamiestis in the Lazdijai District Municipality of Alytus County, Lithuania. The aircraft was intended to leave Belarusian territory via Poland.
Law enforcement authorities are currently conducting an investigation.
