"On Point"
MINSK, 13 September (BelTA) - Delaying peace talks on Ukraine is not to the West's benefit, Doctor of Historical Sciences Nikolai Platoshkin said in the latest episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“Delaying [the process] is not to the West's benefit, considering the situation on the front. They insist on a ceasefire, and then we'll talk about everything. But overall, I think that stalling is not in their interests and not in the interests of Trump, who, after all, is still counting on a Nobel [Prize],” Nikolai Platoshkin remarked with a degree of irony.
In this regard, he also mentioned Israel's recent strikes on Qatar. In the political analyst's opinion, the Israelis, with their actions, have simply set up the U.S. president, who contributed to settling the crisis in the region. “Now they are setting him up. Even the relatives of Israeli hostages want to sue the Israeli prime minister because he derailed the negotiations,” the expert added.
