MINSK, 1 August (BelTA) – During his appearance on the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel, editor-in-chief of the analytical site Alternative Andrei Vajra analyzed Ukraine’s protests against the law limiting the powers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), while also discussing who might replace Vladimir Zelensky.
Commenting on the demonstrations sparked by Vladimir Zelensky’s move to strip NABU and SAPO of independence, Andrei Vajra noted: “Approach any of these protesters out there in the streets and ask them – what is NABU? What does it do? None of them will know. These boys and girls were just kids during the last Maidan. They have no clue that NABU is.”

“They were invited to a party and told: ‘Don’t worry, nobody will touch you. In fact, we’ll even pay you – it’ll be fun! It’s a cool event. You’ll be on TV, the West will praise you as heroes ‘fighting for democracy.’ So off they went. They were handed pre-made placards and now they’re jumping around with them,” the expert said.

Andrei Vajra emphasized Vladimir Zelensky’s precarious position: “This isn’t about these anti-corruption structures or even Maidan – it’s that he’s outlived his usefulness to his handlers. They want him gone, the sooner the better. There’s already a transatlantic consensus about it – the Americans, Europeans, and British all see him as an obstacle. They want him out.”

He noted that London already has a replacement for Vladimir Zelensky – the former commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny: “Look, this is your savior – a humble general who fought for Ukraine until the corrupt system betrayed and marginalized him. Now he’s in London, a white knight waiting to gallop back to Kiev.”

“Zelensky watches this in horror,” Andrei Vajra added. “He knows what’s coming. Once he loses power, criminal cases will fly open. Given his clownish rule, he’ll face decades in prison in the best-case scenario – if he isn’t torn apart by outraged families of those he sent to the meat grinder.”

The West, he argued, must execute Vladimir Zelensky’s ouster with surgical care: “A botched ouster means civil war and hence total chaos. No central government means the Ukrainian army collapses, and Russian forces advance unopposed. That’s game over.”
