BREST, 8 December (BelTA) – The exchange trade between China and Belarus’ Brest Oblast has more than tripled in 2025, the Brest Oblast Executive Committee told BelTA.
A delegation from Brest Oblast is on a visit to China until 11 December. In particular, a visit to the representative office of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) in Shanghai took place on 8 December. The platform facilitates direct deals between Chinese and Belarusian companies. The exchange trade between China and Brest Oblast has more than tripled over the past year. Enterprises from Brest Oblast ship meat products, timber, dry milk, and butter to China.
The negotiations addressed deepening trade and economic cooperation, finding new sales channels for products from Brest Oblast, and attracting Chinese investments.
“We visited the BUCE representative office in Shanghai today to identify further areas of our cooperation in sales through the exchange. And it is yielding results. If the total exchange trade with Brest Oblast was $2.2 million in 2024, then in 2025 it has already reached $7.3 million. We see the areas where we need to increase volumes. Primarily, these are food products,” Deputy Chairman of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee Mikhail Batsenko explained.
The visit program of the Brest Oblast delegation includes meetings, negotiations, signing of contracts and agreements, and tours of leading enterprises.
