Eurasian Intergovernmental Council session kicks off in Moscow

MOSCOW, 11 December (BelTA) – Moscow is hosting a session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council led by Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin, BelTA has learned.

The heads of government of the five member states of the Eurasian Economic Union are participating in the meeting.

“As the presiding country, I would like to welcome you to the next meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and to express my sincere gratitude to the Russian side, and personally to you, dear Mikhail Vladimirovich [Mishustin, Russian Prime Minister], for the traditionally warm welcome and the high-level organization of this event,” Aleksandr Turchin emphasized.
Mikhail Mishustin noted that today’s meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council is the final one this year. “As usual, we will discuss the most important items on our agenda. First, we will coordinate our positions on the declaration approved by our heads of state on the further development of economic processes within the Eurasian Economic Union until 2030 and for the period up to 2045 – the Eurasian Economic Path,” the Russian prime minister said.
The meeting then continued behind closed doors. It is expected that after the narrow-format talks, members of the delegations will join the heads of government.
