MINSK, 6 February (BelTA) - The election commissions of Belarus and Thailand have agreed on further cooperation, BelTA learned from the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus.
Belarusian observers are currently in Thailand to monitor significant electoral events scheduled for 8 February 2026.
“Belarus CEC member Andrei Gurzhy held a meeting with the Secretary General of the Election Commission of Thailand Sawang Boonmee. An agreement was reached on further cooperation between the central electoral bodies of the two countries, including mutual expert visits for election observation,” the CEC reported.
As part of the international observation program, meetings were also held with representatives of election authorities from Russia, Malaysia, and Mongolia. Prospects for cooperation with the Belarusian CEC were discussed.
International observation remains a key instrument for professional dialogue and the development of partnership relations between electoral bodies of different countries, the CEC noted.
