EAEU experts explore opportunities for cross-border and border tourism

MINSK, 26 November (BelTA) - Experts from the EAEU member states have explored the opportunities for cross-border and border tourism at a seminar organized as part of Belarus' chairmanship at the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), BelTA learned from the National Tourism Agency.

The event brought together representatives of the competent authorities of the EAEU states, as well as leading players in the tourism industry who are interested in actively developing interstate cooperation.

A central part of the seminar was the presentation of tourist routes covering the territories of the EAEU member states. These proposals are designed to serve as a reliable foundation for tour operators, enabling them to create attractive and competitive products for tourists. Participants also had the opportunity to actively exchange experiences, discuss the most pressing issues facing the tourism industry today, and share best practices and promising ideas.

Special attention was paid to the development of models for basic tourist programs. The proposed programs, with an average duration of three days in the EAEU capitals and developed based on direct flights, are intended to form the foundation for creating flexible and diverse combined cross-border tours. Such tours are aimed both at citizens of the union itself who wish to discover neighboring countries, and at foreign tourists looking for comprehensive and interesting travels across the entire Eurasian space.

The implementation of such initiatives opens up broad prospects for the entire EAEU tourism industry. It will allow tour operators from the participating countries not only to jointly present at international tourism exhibitions, promoting a single attractive destination, but also to cooperate effectively in marketing activities. The ultimate goal of this cooperation is to significantly increase the volume of tourist flows in the region, which will contribute to both economic growth and the strengthening of cultural ties between peoples.

“The holding of this seminar underscores the strategic importance of tourism development within the EAEU and the readiness of Belarus, as the chairing country, to actively facilitate these processes. We are confident that the decisions made and the plans outlined will provide a powerful impetus for the formation of a single, attractive, and competitive tourism space for the union,” the National Tourism Agency said.
