MINSK, 10 July (BelTA) – A meeting of the expert group was held on 9 July to finalize and approve a draft regulation on international tourism events among the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the press service of the CIS Executive Committee told BelTA.

Participating in the meeting were representatives from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and the CIS Executive Committee.

During the meeting, the experts finalized and approved the document. It was decided to submit it through the established procedure for consideration by the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers.

The draft regulation stipulates that international tourism events among CIS countries will take place in the form of exhibitions (fairs), competitions, forums, seminars, and conferences, including those with a scientific (or scientific-practical) and educational focus in the fields of tourism and hospitality. These events may be organized by government agencies responsible for tourism in the CIS member states, either independently or in collaboration with other organizers.

Organizers will be responsible for developing the event program, selecting venues, defining participant categories and participation terms, and taking measures to spread information about the event.

The draft regulation also outlines the procedure for organizing international tourism events and for the participation of representatives from the CIS countries.
