Draft memorandum on use of unmanned systems in civil aviation discussed in Moscow

MINSK, 25 April (BelTA) – Moscow hosted a regular session of the CIS Civil Aviation and Airspace Use Council to discuss the creation of a unified information space and the use of unmanned aircraft systems in civil aviation, the press service of the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry told BelTA.

The session was held at the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC). Representatives from the member states of the Agreement on Civil Aviation and Airspace Use (Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan) participated in it. Belarus was represented by Igor Golub, Director of the Aviation Department at the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry.

The session explored the IAC's results in 2024. The session also discussed the concept of creating a unified information space for data exchange on flight safety, investigation of aviation incidents and accidents, a draft memorandum on cooperation in the development and use of unmanned aircraft systems in civil aviation among CIS countries, and a new version of aviation rules “Requirements and Certification Procedures for Aviation Educational Institutions of the Member States of the Agreement on Civil Aviation and Airspace Use”.

Representatives of the CIS delegations laid flowers at the Eternal Flame on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.
