Development of aerial component of CSTO collective forces discussed

MINSK, 19 November (BelTA) – The development of the aerial component of the collective forces was discussed at a videoconference session of the CSTO Military Committee, the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.

Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Aleksandr Volfovich took part in the session.

Challenges and threats to military security in collective security regions were discussed. Matters of coalitional military construction in the medium term were also in the center of attention. Close attention was paid to the development of the aerial component of the CSTO collective forces.

Apart from that, approaches to organizing the joint training of collective forces in 2021, including taking into account the possible influence of the epidemic situation, were also discussed and approved.

The protocol the sides had agreed was signed as a result of the session of the CSTO Military Committee. The Belarusian Defense Ministry added that the decisions that had been made would contribute to stronger collective security of the Collective Security Treaty Organization member states.
