Delegation from Russia’s Tatarstan visits Minsk Oblast

MINSK, 1 April (BelTA) - A delegation of women deputies from the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia is paying a three-day visit to Minsk Oblast, BelTA learned from Chairwoman of the Minsk Oblast Council of Deputies Natalya Yakubitskaya.

“Three years ago in Grodno the Minsk Oblast Council of Deputies and the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan signed an agreement. This agreement focuses on the development of trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian relations. The program of visit for the delegation is quite extensive. We are offering our guests the opportunity to explore the cultural and historical heritage and the economic potential of Minsk Oblast,” Natalya Yakubitskaya said.

During the visit, the delegation toured the Khatyn memorial complex, where they laid wreaths and visited the museum.

“The program includes visiting our agricultural and ecotourism sites. Today we will also hold a roundtable to discuss the role of women in modern society,” she added.

The roundtable with participation of the women deputies of Tatarstan will be held at the newly opened Territorial Center for Social Services in Borovlyany, Minsk District. The delegation will also familiarize themselves with the institution's work, including ongoing social projects.

“This year, we also plan to actively participate in the Forum of the Regions [of Belarus and Russia] in Nizhny Novgorod. We have already received cooperation proposals from four regions. We will certainly accept all of them,” Natalya Yakubitskaya emphasized.
