MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – A delegation of the forest industry entrepreneurship division of the Cuban Agriculture Ministry is in Belarus getting familiar with the local practices in this field, the press service of the Belarusian Forestry Ministry told BelTA.
Top Belarusian Forestry Ministry officials met with the Cuban delegation on 19 September. First Deputy Forestry Minister Alexander Kulik presented the national forestry industry administration system before the guests. The Cuban colleagues were eager to learn what functions regional forestry associations perform and what functions of individual enterprises are. They also wondered about the tasks performed by the enterprises accountable to the Forestry Ministry.
The Cuban delegation is expected to visit the national forest seed breeding and selection center, experimental forest farms in Smolevichi and Vileika, and the state forest registry operator company Belgosles.
The Cuban colleagues are in Belarus upon the invitation of Belarusian Forestry Minister Vitaly Drozhzha.
It is not the first visit of a Cuban delegation of this kind. Cuban Agriculture Minister Gustavo Rodriguez Rollero met with Belarusian Forestry Minister Vitaly Drozhzha in Minsk in June. The Cuban agriculture minister noted back then that his country is interested in the Belarusian experience of forestry industry administration and sees a great potential in cooperation with Belarusian wood growers.More about Society
