MOSCOW, 6 March (BelTA) - The Collective Security Treaty Organization has commented on the idea to deploy Western troops to Ukraine, BelTA learned.
“If European countries send military contingents to Ukraine, this will inevitably create new security risks in the region. This cannot but cause concern of individual member states and the Organization itself,” CSTO spokeswoman Natalia Kharitonova said.
“In case of such risks, the Organization is ready to offer various options for assistance to the country that asks for such assistance, in full compliance with the CSTO's charter and in accordance with the decisions by the CSTO Collective Security Council,” the spokeswoman said.
