CSTO, CIS discuss international, regional agenda 

MOSCOW, 20 January (BelTA) - Coordination between the CSTO and the CIS were discussed during a meeting between Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Talatbek Masadykov and Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States Sergei Lebedev on 20 January, BelTA learned from the CSTO press service.

"The heads of the executive bodies of the two Eurasian organizations exchanged views in a friendly atmosphere on pressing issues of the international and regional situation and the experience of both organizations in their priority areas of activity. In particular, the discussion addressed the implementation of measures under the roadmap for developing cooperation among the CSTO, CIS, and SCO for 2026-2028, signed during the meeting in Beijing on 3 September 2025, with a focus on coordinating integration projects," the press service stated.

“The top administrative officials of the CSTO and the CIS unanimously expressed the view that regional organizations are designed to play an important role in maintaining peace, preventing and overcoming instability, shaping a new Eurasian security architecture, and strengthening cooperation in the economic and humanitarian spheres,” the press service added.
