CIS defense ministers to convene in Minsk on 3 July

MINSK, 2 July (BelTA) – The next meeting of the CIS Defense Ministers Council will take place in Minsk on 3 July, BelTA learned from the Defense Ministry. 

The meeting will be attended by the defense ministers of the CIS member states, the secretary of the CIS Defense Ministers Council, as well as CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev. The participants will discuss the current state of multilateral cooperation and the development of the unified (joint) military systems of the Commonwealth. They are also expected to approve a plan of joint activities for 2025 and conceptual approaches to defense partnerships in the CIS until 2030.

In the run-up to the meeting of the CIS Defense Ministers Council, delegations will take part in a ceremonial gathering and concert at the Palace of the Republic. On 3 July, they will watch the military parade in honor of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and Independence Day of Belarus.
