MINSK, 24 February (BelTA) – The election campaign in Belarus is drawing to a close, Chairman of the Central Election Commission Igor Karpenko said as he met with international observers from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State, BelTA has learned.
“We are on the home stretch. Early voting is underway. During the four days of early voting, slightly more than 33% of voters have already cast their ballot. In general, everything is proceeding normally,” said Igor Karpenko.
The CEC chief reminded that the CEC Information Center will open on 24 February. “It will work around the clock. We will go on air at about 2:00 on 26 February to announce preliminary results and at 14:00 we will hold a larger press conference,” added the head of the Central Election Commission.
