MINSK, 1 April (BelTA) - The republican public association Belaya Rus and the Russian political party United Russia concluded an agreement on cooperation, BelTA has learned.
The agreement was signed at the initiative of the United Russia party in the run-up to the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia. The document was signed by Chairman of Belaya Rus Gennady Davydko and Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia party Andrei Turchak.
Gennady Davydko noted the importance of economic integration of the two states. "It is very important that there is a full determination and political will of our leaders. We are implementing joint projects in all areas. It is very good that the presidents, the governments and industrial organizations cooperate. But what is more important is that people are friendly nations," said Gennady Davydko.
"Our interaction is an excellent example of the principles on which relations should be built between neighboring countries. We help each other to develop progressively and to maintain social and economic stability. Difficult periods of the shared history have united the Russian and Belarusian peoples and forged our unity. We are facing the enormous political and sanctions pressure from the collective West. In the current conditions, we must unite even more and direct additional efforts to strengthen the sovereignty and ensure the economic security of our states. I am confident that the cooperation agreement will open a new page in the history of our relations, will serve as the basis for coordinated work in the interests of our peoples," Andrei Turchak said. He also noted the importance of the participation of Belaya Rus and the United Russia in the implementation of the 28 Union State integration programs.
One of the areas of focus of Belaya Rus is international cooperation, establishment of ties with public and political associations of foreign countries. Belaya Rus and the United Russia signed a protocol on consultations on 24 June 2019. Now the cooperation is underpinned by the agreement.
