Belarusian Women's Union joins Our Children charity campaign

MINSK, 6 January (BelTA) – The Belarusian Women's Union prepared gifts for the students of the Petrikov special residential vocational college No.1 as part of the Our Children charity campaign, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian state light industry concern Bellegprom.

Bellegprom Chairperson Tatiana Lugina presented the students with sport clothing. “The year 2020 has once again demonstrated that the most important thing in life is health. We know that street exercisers were a New Year present for the school from the Housing and Utilities Ministry, and now you have new sports clothes,” she said.

Bellegprom also gave the college sets of table linen. “During these holy holidays, we want to share motherly warmth with the children, and it does not matter how old they are - 5 or 15. To show that the world is different, not always prickly and complicated, that there is always a place for kindness and mercy,” said the head of the concern.

Nadezhda Lazarevich, General Director of Bobruiskagromash, presented cosmetics kits to the students.

Representatives of the Belarusian Women's Union got familiar with the training and production base of the institution and expressed their willingness to help the students in future employment.

The Our Children charity project is running in Belarus from 10 December till 10 January. Every year, heads of ministries and other government agencies, local authorities, representatives of public associations visit children's care homes and family-type homes, foster families, families raising disabled children, correctional and rehabilitation facilities, hospitals. During the campaign, they wish children a Happy New Year and Merry Christmas, give gifts, help address their issues.
