
MINSK, 26 July (BelTA) – In Belarus, in Q2 2025, the employment rate (ratio of employed population to total population aged 15-74) stood at 68%, while the unemployment rate (according to International Labor Organization methodology) was 2.6% of the labor force, Belarus’ National Statistical Committee (Belstat) told BelTA citing the data of the Labor Force Survey.
"Among the working-age population, 84.5% were employed in Belarus' economy. The employment rate among working-age women stood at 85.8%, while for men it was 83.3%. The majority of workers reside in urban areas."
"Most Belarusians searched for jobs through friends, relatives, or acquaintances. The second most common method was using the internet or media. The least used approaches were direct applications to employers or contacting employment services."
The survey is conducted quarterly in accordance with the International Labor Organization's methodology to obtain data on: the size of the labor force, employed and unemployed persons, as well as individuals outside the labor force - categorized by gender, age, education level, and other demographic and socioeconomic characteristics."
