Belarusian-Russian University implements Union State project on digital environment

MOSCOW, 20 November (BelTA) – Projects in education of the Union State of Belarus and Russia were in focus of a session of the Commission on Social and Youth Policy, Science, Culture, and Humanitarian Affairs of the Union State Parliamentary Assembly held on 20 November via videoconferencing, BelTA learned from the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly.

The MPs discussed joint projects and programs of the Union State in education, the press service noted. The MPs were updated on the results of the Union State project “Development of educational and scientific activity of the Belarusian-Russian University on the basis of innovative technologies”

The project was aimed at improving the quality of training specialists in engineering and of scientific research in Belarus and Russia. “The project provided for improving the digital environment of the university, updating software and equipment, setting up testing laboratories,” the press service noted. The MPs noted that the budget of the project was used appropriately and sparingly. The accounting of the property created or purchased using the Union State funding met the requirements of the legislation, the press service added.

In addition, the MPs reviewed the results of the meeting of the permanent seminar of the Parliamentary Assembly “The integration of general education systems of Belarus and Russia as the basis for the development of the Union State common education space” and discussed preparations for the next meeting of the seminar on the demographic policy of Belarus and Russia.

Taking part in the session of the commission were representatives of the Union State Standing Committee, the Belarusian Education Ministry, the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and the Russian Ministry of Education.
