MINSK, 31 March (BelTA) – A Belarusian-Russian exercise involving mechanized units continues in the exercise area Mulino in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.
The allies practiced regrouping during a regular stage of the exercise. Covered by air defense units, the troops marched to new positions. Engineer reconnaissance and mine clearance were also practiced along the way.
Within the next few days the troops will have to prepare for a defensive action. Apart from that, the allies will practice withdrawing from a combat zone into a reconstitution area and will perform a counterattack together with incoming reserve forces.
The Belarusian army is represented by tank crews and motorized infantry units from Slonim and Zaslonovo. The Belarusian troops use Russian infantry fighting vehicles BMP-2 and T-72B3 tanks.
The exercise has been organized in line with the plan on cooperation between the Belarusian Defense Ministry and the Russian one in 2021.
